MPs have voted to support measures decriminalising women who terminate their own pregnancies up until birth, resulting in the UK now having one of the most extreme pro-abortion parameters in the world.

Labour MP Tonia Antoniazzi’s amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill passed with 379 votes in favour and 137 against, a majority of 242. The Gower MP stated that the amendment will eliminate the risk of ‘investigation, arrest, prosecution, or imprisonment’ for any woman making decisions about her own pregnancy.

During the Bill’s report stage, Ms Antoniazzi reassured colleagues that the existing 24-week limit would remain, abortions would still need two doctors’ approval and signatures, and healthcare professionals ‘acting outside the law and abusive partners using violence or poisoning to end a pregnancy would still be criminalised, as they are now’.

Conservative MP Rebecca Paul expressed being ‘disturbed’ by the amendment, arguing it would allow ‘fully developed babies up to term could be aborted by a woman with no consequences’.
