Nadine Dorries, a prominent figure within the Conservative Party, has made a striking allegation against the strategists behind the Tory leadership campaigns. In a detailed tweet, Dorries claimed that Jenrick's campaign is now being managed by the same group responsible for Kemi Badenoch's campaign, a move she believes to be part of a broader strategy orchestrated by long-standing party influencers.

According to Dorries, key figures such as Michael Gove, Munira Mirza, Dougie Smith, and Dominic Cummings have been meticulously planning leadership outcomes to ensure their control over the party. She referenced her book, "The Plot," suggesting that these strategists have historically manipulated the party's direction to secure their preferred candidates on the final ballot presented to party members.

Dorries pointed out that during the 2022 leadership race, Munira Mirza crafted Badenoch's speeches while her husband, Dougie Smith, assisted Rishi Sunak. She claimed that this orchestrated effort ensured that their favoured candidates were the final choices, thereby maintaining their influence.

Highlighting the ongoing leadership dynamics, Dorries noted that Danny Kruger, closely associated with Dominic Cummings and Dougie Smith, has taken charge of Jenrick's campaign in Westminster. Kruger, along with Sam Armstrong and Jake Ryan, allegedly continues to work under Smith's guidance to shape the party's leadership.

Dorries's allegations extend to financial and operational aspects within the party. She mentioned that the Conservative Party currently has only £3 million left in its bank account, and the cost of another leadership election could exceed this amount. She also noted that donors are withholding funds until Rishi Sunak is replaced, and even then, their support will depend on the chosen leader.

In a broader context, Dorries's tweet underscores the internal turmoil and power struggles within the Conservative Party, raising questions about transparency and democracy in its leadership processes. As the party grapples with these revelations, the weight of its future rests heavily on the decisions of MPs and party members.
