Lucy Connolly, the wife of Tory councillor Ray Connolly, has had her 31 month prison sentence denied, in what many are calling further proof of a two-tier judiciary. Lucy has accused the lawyer who represented her in her initial trial of failures in his duties.

Lucy was arrested during the Summer riots of last year, after she posted;

"Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f****** hotels full of the b******* for all I care, while you're at it take the treacherous government & politicians with them.

I feel physically sick knowing what these families will now have to endure.

If that makes me racist, so be it."

This was in the heat of the Southport Massacre, where three young girls were stabbed to death by Axel Rudakubana. Rumours spread online that the perpetrator of the murders was an illegal immigrant, resulting in a hotel that was housing migrants getting attacked.

Lucy herself had lost her child Harry after an NHS doctor, Dr Aboo Thamby, failed to examine her 19-month-son two days before he died. Aboo decided he did not need to be admitted to hospital despite being, according to his mum, lifeless and unresponsive.

He was only given a warning by the General Medical Council.

Justice Tim Holroyde, one of the three judges who rejected Lucy's appeal.

The judges presiding over Connolly's case said, "the words of the tweet are on their face an incitement to serious violence."

Lord Justice Tim Holroyde was one of three judges who rejected the appeal. Tim is no stranger to controversial decisions. Justice Holroyde was one of the three judges that overturned the original sentence of former Labour peer Nazir Ahmed, who was found guilty of two counts of attempted rape of children and one act of serious sexual assault of a boy, resulting in Nazir only serving 2 and a half years.
