Nigel Farage has described the actions of Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer as "mind-blowing" after she appeared to backtrack from a simple gesture of goodwill towards outgoing President Joe Biden following a backlash from her own supporters.

Denyer had initially shared Biden's resignation letter on X, commending his decision as a "true sign of leadership" and expressing her well wishes for him, acknowledging his many years of public service. However, within 24 hours, she retracted her gracious comments due to criticism from the Green Party's pro-Palestine supporters.

In a humiliating retraction, Denyer clarified her position on X, stating: "Last night I was positive about President Biden's decision to stand aside as a candidate." She continued, "Some people read into this that I was offering my unmitigated support for his Presidency, including the policy of selling arms to Israel. Given my long-running work campaigning for peace, this is the last thing I wanted and certainly not my position. I am sorry for not making it clearer, and that my comments left some in doubt and concerned."

Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, seized upon this incident to highlight what he sees as the poor quality of politicians in the country. Farage remarked, "The standard of politician we have in this country is mind-blowing."
